Vision and Themes:
Angie is a dedicated and passionate filmmaker and collaborator, who’s creative voice is something that is deeply personal and rooted in her core. Her Production Design visions and choices have often been informed by her personal experiences as a Mexican-American woman who grew up in a predominantly white area. Derived from that, she often utilizes juxtaposing color palettes, bleak and melancholic hues of brown, beige, dark blue and green, and the other brighter, child-like hues pinks, and neon green, blue, yellow, purple, and white. She enjoys combining these visual elements together in direct opposition to one another, because it shows the true incongruity of what it is to be human; the drastic lows and the boisterous highs.
All in all, Angie’s favorite part of the filmmaking process is helping others create the visual elements of the film that breathe life to the story. She is always open to exploring new concepts, broadening her horizons, and developing new skills.
